Love was truly in the air at this recent proposal picnic, and I couldn’t be more excited to share the magic of this special day with the happy couple! Set against the backdrop of Beacon Hill Park on a beautiful sunny day in Victoria, BC, this proposal was everything dreams are made of!
The Setup
I wanted to create an enchanting setting that perfectly captured the essence of romance. From the lush blankets and plush pillows to the tablescape with vintage coupe wine glasses and goblets. A 'Will you marry me?' sign was strung between trees and the couple had a charcuterie spread and mocktails to enjoy. I chose a somewhat secluded spot so the couple could enjoy some private moments once they were settled in and every detail was thoughtfully curated to make this moment unforgettable.
The Moment
It was a surprise proposal picnic set in beautiful Beacon Hill Park, Victoria, BC, which was within walking distance from where they were staying at The Fairmont Empress Hotel. On the day of the proposal picnic, I let the client and the photographer know the exact location in the park once I began setting up. He then suggested to his soon-to-be fiancée that they should take a walk through the park.
As they strolled through the picturesque paths, he led her to the picnic setup. Her surprise and delight were palpable as she took in the beautiful setting before her. In that magical moment, he got down on one knee and proposed. The joy and love in the air were contagious. I happily captured every precious second on video while the talented photographer from Megan Maundrell Photography captured photos ensuring that every heartfelt moment was beautifully preserved.
